Khan and Pacquiao could clash in Dubai?

    Manny-Pacquiao-and-Amir-Khan

Amir Khan could fight former stable mate Manny Pacquiao next year, says the Filipino’s promoter Bob Arum. The British welterweight had hoped to fight Floyd Mayweather, but the pound-for-pound king opted for Andre Berto instead, a decision Arum describes as a ‘farce’.

Khan has since flaunted the possibility of a bout with Pacquiao, who lost to Mayweather earlier this year in the richest fight in boxing history.

Arum says the fight is a possibility next year in the Middle East, and he would be willing to arrange it.

“This kid Amir Khan keeps shooting his mouth off about Manny Pacquiao. I can arrange for Khan to fight Pacquiao,” Arum, Pacquiao’s promoter, told The Telegraph.

“Amir Khan has been begging Mayweather for a fight and now he can get a major fight. I’m not a hard guy to deal with. I’m not going to mess them around,” said Arum.

Arum criticised Mayweather for rejecting the opportunity to fight Khan, and instead going for Berto.

The bookies have already installed the 49-0 future hall of famer as a landslide favourite for the bout, with prices as short as 1/100 available.

Arum believes Khan would’ve caused Mayweather problems.

He added: “That’s a farce. Mayweather should have fought Khan next. It would have been an interesting fight. One thing’s for sure, Pacquiao is not ducking Khan. Pacquiao will fight him. I don’t know if Khan will fight Pacquiao, but it’s available.”

Arum confirmed that Akbar Productions, LLC, has been tasked with bringing big time boxing to the UAE, including a match between Filipino ring icon Manny Pacquiao and British boxer Amir Khan.
