We caught up with him for an exclusive interview to find out more about his latest song ‘Ishq’ and live performances:

    1. Can you remember the first time you became truly connected to music?

It was at a very young age. When listening to music, I always paid attention to the lyrics of the song; if it was lyrically good then it would pass off as a good song in my book. It’s the lyrics that connect me to music, not just the music itself.

    1. How do you look back on your journey in music?

It has been a total roller coaster ride with many ups and downs. If I said it was easy, I would be lying. But it has been a very memorable experience and I have enjoyed every minute of it.

    1. Can you tell us about your latest single?

My latest single is ISHQ. It is an RNB song which explains an untold love story; in short, ISHQ is love captured in words. It is a song many will be able to relate to. The single is released worldwide by Sony Music India. I am very excited about this project and very anxious to know the feedback from the fans.

    1. Who will the song appeal to?

The song will appeal to every individual who has been in love and then gone through heartbreak. The lyrics explain an untold story of many true lovers. For some, it will take them back to a time that they thought they had forgotten, for others it will take them back to a time which they wish they never forget.

    1. What was the biggest challenge of putting it together?

Producing a song and video which is appreciated by all is very challenging and I hope my fans will be pleased with the outcome of this track. Every time I release a new song, it feels like I am embarking on a mini exciting learning journey. The biggest challenge for this video was filming in the desert heat and that too in the Holy month of Ramadan when you cannot eat or drink publically.

    1. Can you tell us about the music video?

The music video was shot in Dubai in the most dramatic locations of the city. Living in Dubai most of my life, I wanted to show the audience the city at its best. I often drive out into the desert for ‘thinking time’, whether that be personal or music related, and so the desert is a big part of me. I wanted to show this in the video. A Pakistani actress/model ‘Mathira’ has been featured in the video of this song.

    1. How much does performing live mean to you?

Performing live is fun, it means a lot to me to showcase mycreations, especially when I know that me and the music are loved by many. I think performing live is very important as it separates real talent from the rest. I believe we as artists owe that to our fans.

    1. What has been your most memorable live performance?

It was a concert that I did in Pakistan back in 2013. It was named as Basant Mela (basant is a traditional kite festival in Pakistan). The crowd went crazy over Aashiqan De. I loved each and every second of my performance. Having the crowd know and sing the lyrics to your song is an unbelievable and unforgettable feeling, however long you have been in the industry for.

    1. What can we expect after the single releases?

I am hoping for a very positive response from my fan base. They have been waiting a long time for a new release and here it is. A song and video which is pleasing to the ear and eye is what they can expect. I have a couple of shows lined up in Pakistan and radio interviews across the globe which I am very excited about.

Once the video releases, it is all up to the fans to make it what it is, this is something I am looking forward to.

    1. What are your greatest unfulfilled ambitions?

I don’t consider any of my ambitions unfulfilled as yet; I am always working harder and thriving to achieve my goals. As I have said on my social media many times, I don’t wish for things, I struggle I hustle and I make sure I get them J

    1. If you could learn a new musical instrument what would it be and why?

I would love to learn to play the saxophone; I love its sound and harmonies.

    1. Which singer would you love to sing a duet with?

I can’t name one because there are many good artists out there in the industry who I may end up collaborating with; but if I had to choose one, it would be Arijit Singh!

    1. Tell us something not many people know about you?

I am very shy in person. If you meet me for the first time, I may not talk much’ so don’t get it wrong by thinking I have an attitude problem, lol!

    1. What is your best and worst quality?

I am very focused and determined and I can say that is one of my best qualities. Talking about a worst quality, that would probably be my mood swings when I haven’t had enough sleep, lol

    1. What is the most daring thing you have ever done?

Musically, my first ever show back in 2012, within myself it was one of the most daring thing I could do. It was a new year’s evening and I was performing alongside Imran Khan and Sona Family, I was the new kid on the block, so getting on stage and performing in front of a huge crowd was a daring act for me, lol!

    1. What inspires you today?

    Real life stories, incidents, experiences!

    1. What has been your most memorable musical encounter?

I have met many artists from the entertainment industry; one of the most memorable encounter was meeting Sonu Nigham, a living musical legend.

    1. What is the piece of musical advice you ever received?

My seniors have given me advice throughout my musical career, many things I have thought about and acted upon them saying it. The most sound advice I was given though, must be ’good luck, keep working hard and never give up’.  It is advice given by many, but I suppose what matters’ is if you only hear it or if you listen to it.

    1. Why do you love music?

This question is actually very hard to answer because there are many reasons why I love music. In short, it keeps me connected to the memories and emotions.

    1. Why should we pick up the latest single?

…..because you will be missing out if you don’t.
