    THE COUTURE WEDDING AFFAIR

dubaiblissContinuing on the path of putting together everything needed for a luxe, elegant, and aspirational wedding, HARPER¹S BAZAAR BRIDE INDIA introduces a chapter of couture and revelry for the first time in Dubai.

The Couture Wedding Affair will bring together 15 prominent Indian houses of fashion and jewellers at the prestigious Palazzo Versace alongside the magazine¹s sensibilities of style.

To be held on 9th and 10th September, this 2-day event would allow patrons of the finest Indian couture and jewels to meet and greet the designers, have an up, close and personal look at the season’s latest collections, buy, customise and order ensembles, select finest jewellers offerings from the country, and meet the HARPER¹S BAZAAR BRIDE INDIA team. Participating designers and jewellers include Manish Arora, Rohit Bal, Gaurav Gupta, Rahul Mishra, Amit Aggarwal, Ashima Leena, JJ Valaya, Diva’ni, Hazoorilal by Sandeep Narang, Lakme Reinvent Aurelle, Shri Hari Dia Gems, Jagdish Jewellers, Khanna Jewellers, Ahuja Sons, Kalyan Jewllers and Big Brands

As a special, the magazine is organizing invite-only expert sessions—Fashion Show and Tell—to be spread out through the two days. Each session will include a live model display, and then a moderated session with the participating designer and jeweler wherein they will answer questions and interact with the attendees over cocktails and bites. These masterclasses are the first of their kind in the UAE and will have attendance by prominent socialites and clientele.

Adds Nupur Mehta Puri, Editor of Harper’s Bazaar Bride India, “India and its heritage is well known to the world, and for us as a brand, it is important to showcase this abroad. With rich handcrafted textiles across hundreds of regions, exquisite embellishments, and legendary gems like the diamond of Golconda that have originated in India, history has time and again witnessed the beautiful value of our native fashion and jewels. And keeping this in mind, we wanted to present new couture and new jewellers to the outside world, wherein the arts have been reinterpreted in a completely modern bridal context—yet preserve their authentic essence. The Couture Wedding Affair by Harper’s Bazaar Bride INDIA does all this and more, by bringing the latest styles and jewels, alongside icons of

design to an international audience who appreciate the value of intricacy and luxury in equal parts. This event is set to become one of our biggest in the calendar, and we look forward to receiving a great response.”

Harper’s Bazaar Bride’s expo is set to give the Emirates the true taste of modern Indian luxury. We as a brand are honoured to be a part of this initiative. We will be presenting a range of couture pieces that could be worn at pre-wedding ceremonies or a cocktail evening, and clothes that could be a part of a bride’s trousseau post their wedding.

    Manish Arora

Harper’s Bazaar Bride was launched at a time where there was a dearth of quality content-led wedding publications of international caliber. This initiative takes it all a step ahead. We’re very excited to showcase our creations in a fashionable city like Dubai. Indian by Manish Arora brings to you a line inspired by Persian Rugs & Banjara artistry, with hints of single thread silk, gold & white pearl embroideries.

It is surprising and a matter of great pride to see how Harper’s Bazaar Bride has taken a huge leap in the Indian Bridal Couture space. We are really excited to be a part of this prestigious Wedding Expo. This kind of an expo has never happened before in Dubai, and we will be showcasing both our lines of Limited edition Luxury Prêt and Bridal Couture.

    Diva’ni

Harper’s Bazaar Bride has stood out as a refreshing change in the monotonous Indian Bridal stories. It has definitely taken bridal couture to places, making it approachable and at par with the international market. We are bringing to Dubai our Couture 2016 collection, composed of the Mughal florals, the regal flutters, the larger-than-life architecture, all dipped in hues of pristine royalty and wrapped up in luxury at its best.

    Rohit Bal

It has been quite a journey with Harper’s Bazaar Bride. And it’s indeed our pleasure to take this association forward with the Dubai Wedding Expo. We will be

showcasing our latest couture collection, which traverses the landscapes of Russia and Kashmir. Think opulent velvets, handwoven silks, rich golds, fine threads, intricate zardozi coupled with kani and crewel work, Swarovski crystal sheen, and emerald detailing. The veritable reflections will be seen in jackets, capes, shararas, tiaras, and quilted skirts.

    Rahul Mishra

By large, the Indian bridal market is the biggest luxury market and Harper’s Bazaar Bride is the strongest influencer in this landscape. We are glad to be a part of the Dubai Wedding Expo as it is bringing together expertise of the bridal world, and facilitating a tête-à-tête with the best couturiers of the country. We will be showcasing our new couture collection alongside our exquisite westerns from Paris Fashion Week.

    Gaurav Gupta

Harper’s Bazaar Bride has quite swiftly made its mark in a short time, and we see a deep, long-standing association with them. The Dubai expo is a great platform for us. Our focus will be on classic looks. Some of the pieces are from our latest couture collection with sari gowns, evening wear, and sari lehengas. You’ll see multi-layered high waist skirts, lots of layering, and classic silhouettes with a modern twist.
