Tamquest Entertainment is organizing their annual CSR event, ‘Smile on the Face – Iftar Meal Box’ again this year. They will distribute an iftar meal and other daily-use items to the labourers across different labour camps in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and
Sharjah on Fridays, from June 19, 2015 to July 10, 2015 during the month of Ramadan.
‘Smile on the Face’ is a way to thank the labourers for making U.A.E. what it is today and appreciating their hard work. Every year, more than 100 volunteers join with Tamquest Entertainment for this cause and reach out to more than 10,000 labourers during this holy month.
“It has been a pleasure organizing this event for the past three years and we are excited to enter our fourth year with a bigger approach,” said Uttam Kumar, Managing Director of Tamquest Entertainment, “We would specially like to thank all our sponsors and volunteers to help us give back to the community.”
The labourers are given an Iftar Meal Box, containing a biryani, fruits, water and juice, and a Smile Bag which includes daily-use items like shampoo, shaving kits, cooking pastes, biscuits, t-shirts etc. Tamquest has partnered this year with Bank of Sharjah as a title sponsor, Dubai Investments, Emax and SEL as associate sponsors, and other corporations like Al-Ain Water, Santoor, Chilly Willy, Al Kabeer, Tiffany, Dabur, XL Energy Drinks and Lay’s, supporting the event with the products for the Smile Bags.
“We are happy that the small initiative that we started 3 years ago, has now become a huge event and is helping a huge number of people,” said Zona, Events Director of Tamquest Entertainment, “We are trying to reach out to as many labourers as possible and give them the maximum we can.”
This initiative was originally started in 2012 with two volunteers who packed and distributed meal bags and toiletry kits before iftar on Friday evenings. But last year, the event touched new heights with 180 volunteers helping Tamquest to reach out to more than 11,000 labourers.
