L’Oreal Paris announced that Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif is the new face of the beauty brand in India.

Kaif becomes the fourth Indian brand ambassador for L’Oreal Paris, following former Miss World-turned-actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Bollywood star Sonam Kapoor and India’s Hollywood cross-over Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire).

Kaif’s latest release Dhoom:3 has become the most successful Indian film of all time grossing over $83 million worldwide since its December release. The third installment of the action franchise from veteran Bollywood banner Yash Raj Films features superstar Aamir Khan along with actors Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra.

Born to an Indian father and a British mother, Kaif, 30, started out as a model and moved from London to Mumbai to make her Bollywood debut in 2003 with Boom. She went on to star in major hits such as Namastey London, Partner, Race and Raajneeti, among others.

“I’m honored to be a part of the L’Oreal Paris family… The stunning women that represent the brand across the globe are strong motivators. It is an incredible privilege to be joining this league of ladies,” Kaif said in a statement.

“I would like to extend a warm welcome to Katrina to the L’Oréal Paris family. I am sure she will enjoy representing team India as brand ambassador and I wish her the very best,” added L’Oreal Paris global ambassador Bachchan, who has been a part of the brand for 12 years.

One of Kaif’s most awaited releases this year will be Fox Star Studios India’s Bang Bang, a Bollywood reworking of the Tom CruiseCameron Diaz starrer Knight and Day, in which she will co-star with top star Hrithik Roshan. Kaif’s numerous brand endorsement deals in India include her association with Sony XPeria, Etihad Airways, Pantene, Lux soap and Pepsi’s Slice, among others.
