Bukhara, the signature Indian restaurant at Kempinski Hotel Ajman, in association with Tamquest Entertainment MFZE, Radio 4 and Zee Entertainment, will organize the second Bukhara Kite Festival on 15 January 2016 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, in the northern emirates.

After the successful festival in 2015, the 2016 event will continue to demonstrate Makar Sankranti kite-flying traditions, and Bukhara will provide a sumptuous buffet of tasty Indian food at the beach along with entertainment for both children and adults, including kite-flying, balloon-twisting, face painting, dance and music by RJ DJ Deep, DJ Ashmac and Kempinski Hotel’s resident DJ Alina on the white sandy beach of the hotel.

At its roots, the Makar Sankranti is a harvest festival held on 14 January every year to celebrate the arrival of spring. The Hindu tradition of kite flying on this day is popular in India, Nepal and South Asia where it has a historical and religious significance and honors the Sun God, who is regarded as the symbol of divinity and wisdom. The colorful offering to the sun in the form of beautiful kites is a way of reaching out to and celebrating the Sun God.

Tickets to the event are available at the online portal of Kempinski Hotel Ajman – https://goo.gl/8x7C5x, platinumlist.net, and all the UAE Exchange outlets, and at Kempinski Hotel Ajman. The tickets include the entrance to the festival and a buffet lunch from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm. The tickets priced at AED 100 per adult, AED 50 for children between the ages of 6-12 years, and children below the age of 6 years can enter free.
